My Journey
My journey began during my college years when I was assigned as a developer for a team project to build a help desk system for our school. Collaborating with other college students was both frustrating and challenging, especially when it came to merging our work since the project was not standalone. Despite the stress, completing the project brought a sense of fulfillment. Seeing my team happy with the outcome made all the hard work worth it.
After graduating, I was eager to start my career as a software engineer. Excited but inexperienced, I humorously applied for senior roles, not realizing how bold (and unrealistic) I was being. Looking back, it’s a funny memory that reminds me of my early enthusiasm. Fortunately, I landed my first role as a web developer. It was challenging to find an entry-level job in the Philippines, so I grabbed the opportunity. My first job was filled with hilarious moments and stress, but it was also a valuable learning experience.
As I gained more experience, I worked on diverse projects, including a Laravel API hosted on AWS. This year marked a significant step forward in building my technical skills and confidence. Working with new tools and frameworks pushed me to learn independently, and I began to appreciate the importance of adaptability in this fast-paced field.
My focus this year has been on leveling up my skills and expanding my knowledge of modern tools and technologies. Self-study has been both my greatest challenge and my most rewarding practice. I’ve realized that learning is a lifelong journey in this field, and I’m committed to staying updated with the latest trends and best practices. I'm excited to continue growing my career and taking on more ambitious projects in the future.
